Vision and Mission
Terawatt Times Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research and educational organization. We are devoted to advancing the global climate and energy transition, creatively and constructively, and to seeing this great human aspiration made real. This transition grows ever more deeply interwoven with Artificial Intelligence and General-Purpose Robotics, and our inquiry extends accordingly to that frontier. We build the foundational theory that transforms manifold phenomena into structured understanding. We build the cognitive frameworks that reveal where innovation, capital, and strategy converge. We build the instruments of action that enable investors, policymakers, operators, and communities to act with greater clarity.
Our work proceeds through five interlocking pillars. THEORY is the Institute's intellectual bedrock: inquiry into first principles and the cognitive frameworks it yields, and the vantage from which we examine how AI and general-purpose robotics are reshaping the climate and energy transition. INDEX measures and assesses the actors of the transition against benchmarks that are transparent, data-driven, and algorithmically original. PUBLICATION gathers deep research and field intelligence from practitioners, scholars, and emerging voices. ADVISORY lays the groundwork that commercialization requires if the transition is to take hold in the world: the theoretical foundations, the intelligent algorithms, and the interfaces by which commercial enterprise may run and endure. The Institute builds this infrastructure and does not itself enter the marketplace. ACADEMY cultivates the climate and energy talent of today and of the generation to come, through open frameworks and youth innovation. Theory, measurement, publication, empowerment, and education: these five pillars converge upon a single purpose, to make this transition something the world can build TOGETHER.
Get Involved
Terawatt Times Institute operates on a hybrid model: its subscription publication sustains ongoing operations, while the public-interest core of its research remains open to all upon free registration.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Institute receives tax-deductible contributions directly. Your support sustains our research and keeps its core open amid a fragmented climate and energy transition.
